Tensions are rising in Tsumkwe, where community members have taken to the streets in protest against the recent appointment of a new police station commander.

Ohangwena Regional Governor Sebastian Ndeitunga has encouraged the parents of children from vulnerable communities, especially the San community, to ensure that their children remain in school while the government is trying by all means to provide them with basic necessities. 

The Hai||om community in the Kunene Region has adopted resolutions that they want to be included in all government development programmes.

The resolution was adopted following a five-day Hai||om San unity conference at Outjo over the weekend.

The manager of Ondera Farm in the Oshikoto Region says he is disappointed with the performance of the yield this year.

San people living in Chetto in the Kongola Constituency of the Zambezi Region joined the rest of the country to say goodbye to the Founding President, who was buried in Windhoek on Saturday.

The councillor of the Epukiro Constituency, Pineal Pakarae, has said they are working on a number of initiatives to support the San community in the Otjimanangombe settlement.

The San Community at Uitkoms Settlement say they remember the late President Hage Geingob as a servant of the people, especially the marginalised communities.

The leader of the Uitkoms community, Chief Katae Augus, says Dr. Geingob was a person who cared for the elderly and destitute Namibians.

The San community at Tsintsabis no longer wants to be associated with their recognised status as marginalised. The community has made a plea for jobs and training opportunities to be considered on par with citizens elsewhere in the country.

The San community in Omega 3 feels discriminated against and neglected, claiming that the government is not providing them with basic services for an extended period of time.
