Namibians are mourning a youth activist and agriculturalist, Jacob Hamutenya (36), who died in a fatal car accident on Sunday.

Hamutenya and another passenger died at the scene, while the female passenger succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

After three weeks of mourning, which included regional memorials with the remains of Dr. Sam Nujoma, Namibians, joined by international dignitaries including Heads of State, laid the Founding President and Father of the Namibian Nation, Dr. Sam Nujoma, to rest at the Heroes' Acre.

At the corner of Sam Nujoma Road and Robert Mugabe Avenue, public members came as early as 7 AM, waiting for the procession, singing hymns and political songs.

As the state funeral of the late Founding President approaches, security forces are conducting a full-scale rehearsal to ensure a smooth and flawless procession in the capital city.
