Namibia's Embassy to the USA will hold a memorial service to honour the life and legacy of Founding President Sam Nujoma on the 24th of February.

This was announced by Ambassador Margareth Mensah-Williams, who also extended condolences to the Nujoma family and Namibians at large.

According to Mensah-Williams, the late Nujoma is remembered in the US for his sternness and honesty, and for working towards the establishment of bilateral relations.

She says US Congressman Jonathan Jackson is going to issue a proclamation in the Congress in remembrance of Nujoma.

Mensah-Williams described the intended proclamation as a befitting tribute and vowed that Namibians would continue the Namibia-USA relations.
