The Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) has officially sworn in field workers for the upcoming Namibia Household Income and Expenditure Survey (NHIES), which is set to begin on April 28, 2025, and will continue until April 22, 2026. This year-long survey will encompass all 14 regions of the country.

The NHIES aims to gather essential data on household income, spending patterns, poverty levels, and inequality in Namibia. These indicators are crucial for national planning, policy formulation, and the monitoring of development initiatives and regional projects.

NSA Statistician-General Alex Shimuafeni highlighted the significance of the survey and urged the public to cooperate fully.

A total of 11,016 private households have been randomly selected to participate in the survey. The field staff, who have taken an oath to uphold confidentiality and professionalism, will gather data through direct engagement with the selected households.

The NSA assures the public that all information collected will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and used solely for statistical purposes.
