President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah this morning departed for Maputo, Mozambique, where she is set for bilateral talks with counterpart President Daniel Chapo.

The visit forms part of ongoing regional engagement by the Presidency, aimed at strengthening economic and political cooperation.

Stronger economic partnerships with African countries are central to President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah's agenda to position Namibia as a logistics hub and to develop robust agricultural value chains, which she has consistently highlighted as top priorities for her administration.

During her working visit to Mozambique, Press Secretary Alfredo Hengari noted that President Nandi-Ndaitwah will emphasise the importance of stronger political cooperation with Mozambique.

This is part of her broader regional strategy to deepen economic and political ties, particularly in sectors like agriculture, logistics, energy and tourism.

Namibia's geographic position between major economies and its access to key regional markets further supports its ambition to become a logistics hub for Southern Africa.

Namibia has also committed resources to address the security situation in Mozambique's Cabo Delgado Province, as part of the SADC mission.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah recently concluded her working visits to Angola, Botswana and Zambia, all aimed at strengthening cooperation in trade, infrastructure and their economies.
