The Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts, and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, has called on Namibians to rally behind Miss World Namibia, Selma Kamanya, as she prepares to represent the country in the 72nd Miss World pageant in India on Saturday.
Kamanya, who has already qualified as a quarter-finalist, has also secured a spot in the top 20 of the multimedia competition.
This has sparked excitement and hope among Namibians, with some wondering whether she could be the one to rewrite the history set by Michelle McLean in 1991, 34 years ago.
