The task force responsible for implementing free tertiary education is expected to deliver a roadmap for the process by August this year.
Established by the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture, the task force is chaired by Gerald Vries, the Executive Director of the ministry.
This group will develop the technical, financial, and policy frameworks necessary for implementing free tertiary education at public institutions next year, as announced by President Netumbo-Nandi-Ndaitwah during her State of the Nation address.
Students are advised to continue with their applications for studies in 2026, including the payment of application fees as required by the institutions.
The ministry urges the public to be patient while the task force completes its important work.
