President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has identified the Kunene Region as a potential hub for livestock production to serve surrounding regions.

The President held talks with Egypt’s Ambassador to Namibia, Wael Batea, highlighting ongoing collaboration between the two countries in the agricultural sector.

Press Secretary in the Presidency, Alfredo Hengari, says, "The President's emphasis is against the realisation of the vast potential of the Kunene region in contributing to the livestock industry."

He added that plans include constructing a subsidiary dam to support agriculture and strengthen local community capacity.

Ambassador Batea reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment, saying, “Till now, we provide Namibia with assistance in all fields whether it is agriculture, military, police, so this will go on. We have convoy of agricultural experts who reside in Namibia to help with food security.”
