International Training College Lingua has signed a collaborative agreement with the Rehoboth Town Council to advance education and community development in the town.

The partnership aims to promote research, digital innovation, and capacity building, benefitting both students and the broader Rehoboth community.

Founder and CEO of Lingua, Ingrid Mettler, said the initiative is focused on unlocking Rehoboth’s full potential and creating new opportunities for the youth.

“Through this collaboration we seek to contribute to the upliftment of Rehoboth,” she said. “We are hoping to unlock its full potential and ensure the town gains the national and global recognition it rightfully deserves. It is also our belief that it is our duty to open up barriers, to open opportunities to our youth so that they can be proud of their towns and brought back into their towns. We believe progress happens when educational institutions and local government join hands with shared purpose—to serve, to elevate, and to transform.”

Rehoboth Mayor Justin Coetzee said the agreement aligns with national priorities, including the Harambee Prosperity Plan, and called on political leaders to show real commitment to education.

“This collaboration is timely and deeply aligned with the inspiration of the Harambee Prosperity [Plan], honestly it is,” he said. “Because of the political leaders, they must show that they are interested in the education sector—and not by showing just because it's some type of policy. No policies, because we have a good constitution in this country.”

He added that the agreement seeks to establish vocational and higher learning institutions in the town to equip young people with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a changing job market.

The partnership marks the beginning of a transformative journey rooted in shared values and a commitment to community upliftment.
