Most rural constituents in the Omaheke Region are in need of better service provision, such as health, water, sanitation, education, road upgrades and income-generating projects to improve their livelihoods.
The communities shared this during the governor's office outreach programme.
During the engagement with Governor Pijoo Nganate, residents pointed out areas such as Skoonheid and Omitara that are in dire need of health facilities, as they currently have to travel long distances to acquire such services.
Some areas are still facing water challenges, which affect residents planning to venture into crop production for food security.
Another area that needs attention is the status of roads in the Otjombinde and Epukiro Constituencies.
Nganate acknowledged the concerns raised by the residents, explaining that the outreach programme is meant to hear from the community.
He added that some heads of line ministries travelled with him to provide feedback on some of the issues.
The Governor's outreach programme will be taken to the Aminuis and Kalahari constituencies early next month.
