Landless People's Movement (LPM) leader Bernadus Swartbooi has called for easier, deadline-free access to the National Youth Development Fund.

Swartbooi criticised the current application process, questioning why young people must meet costly requirements, such as registering a company, hiring accountants, and preparing business plans, which may not guarantee funding.

"Why can't you give money to the banking institutions? Every bank, DBN, and any young person with an idea can apply anytime," Swartbooi said. He argued that these barriers further impoverish young people and questioned the need for application deadlines.

Swartbooi emphasised the importance of making funds readily available for various entrepreneurial ventures, whether buying livestock or starting beauty services, to truly empower young people with opportunities.
