The government of Eswatini has reiterated that its correctional facilities continue to implement strict security measures to ensure the safety of the members of the public, including the inmates, in light of it taking in additional third-country nationals deported from the U.S.

Ten third-country nationals arrived in Eswatini today as part of the agreement with the Trump administration.

The government's acting spokesperson, Thabile Mdluli, said, "The individuals will be kept in a secure area separate from the public while arrangements are made for their return to their countries of origin."

According to Mdluli, the Eswatini authorities would facilitate the integration of these nationals with their families and countries of origin in collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).

''The public is assured that the immigrants pose no security threat to either the nation or neighbouring countries,'' said Mdluli.

The ten deportees are the second batch the Southern African country took in from the U.S. in a space of three months this year since the Trump administration embarked on an illegal immigration crackdown.

The government announced that, of the five migrants who arrived in the country in July, only one person has been reunited with his family in Jamaica successfully.
