The Malaysian High Commission has announced that Namibians are now allowed to enter their country for 30 days with no visa approval required.
During the launch of the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign underway in Windhoek, Malaysia's Acting High Commissioner to Namibia, Khornelisman Jarsi, said Namibians will no longer have to go through lengthy processes to travel to Malaysia. All they need to do is simply book a flight and enter the Asian country for up to thirty days.
Jasri said the initiative reflects Malaysia's commitment to deepening people-to-people ties and fostering tourism diplomacy, as well as building partnerships and creating business opportunities.
"Namibians are welcome to come to Malaysia visa-free for 30 days. So there's already ease, and in Malaysia, we speak English, the prices are okay, and the exchange rate is okay. So we hope to see Namibians in Malaysia soon," he said. Jasri added that "Because our relation with Namibia is very close, we've been visiting Namibia even before your independence, and we have the Malaysia Technical Training Corporation; we train many Namibians, so that's why we offer Namibians visa-free entry for 30 days."
The Deputy Director of the Asia Division in the Ministry of International Relations and Trade, Audrey Namases, welcomed the initiative.
"I'm here as a representative for the Ministry of International Relations and Trade. We are, of course, very supportive of this event, as Namibia and Malaysia have long-standing historic ties since before our independence. We have learnt a lot from Malaysia, and we look forward to exploring our relationship further, especially in terms of our South-South cooperation, in terms of our training, in terms of our bilateral exchanges, and our people-to-people exchanges, of which tourism is a great platform to do that."
