Grootfontein Mayor Talitha Garises bade farewell to elderly community members of the town by hosting a Christmas lunch, as she is set to retire from office this week.

Garises has been at the helm of the town municipality since 2022.

The yearly Christmas parties serve as an occasion where the council meets and mingles with the pensioners over light meals and music.

The mayor added that this is her last Christmas party with the pensioners, as she steps down this week after the Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections.
