The nbc Drama School (NDS) concluded its 2025 training year with an energetic and heartfelt showcase held at the NBC Radio Building in Windhoek.
The event marked the successful completion of the programme for 50 participants, who demonstrated their creativity and growth in a series of radio and television drama performances.
The nbc Director General, senior executives and experienced youth coaches attended the event, celebrating the achievements of the young creatives and the continued impact of the drama training initiative.
Participants spoke with pride and emotion about their journey. Many expressed joy, gratitude, and appreciation for the opportunity the NBC had afforded them.
"This programme opened doors we never imagined. We are truly grateful to the nbc for believing in us and giving us a platform to grow."
"It was an unforgettable experience. We learnt so much, and we will carry these lessons with us throughout our careers."
The NDS Operations Manager Christian Appolus reflected on the programme's success, highlighting how the Drama School has evolved into a meaningful space for skills development, mentorship, and creative exploration.
"I only have praise for the commitment of the participants and the dedication of the coaches and facilitators who guided them throughout the year," remarked Appolus.
nbc Director General Stanley Similo commended the group for their passion and perseverance.
He emphasised the nbc's ongoing commitment to youth development and the importance of nurturing talent within Namibia's creative industries.
"Their participation, creativity, and commitment are at the heart of this project. Over the past 4 years, this initiative has trained more than 490 young people in radio and television drama. This effort continues to build a strong foundation for Namibia's future storytellers."
As celebrations filled the Radio Building, the 50 participants stood proud, ready to take their newly acquired skills and confidence into the broader creative landscape.
With another impactful year complete, the nbc Drama School remains a vital platform for empowering youth and shaping the next generation of Namibia's storytellers.
