The Governor of the ||Kharas Region, Dawid Gertze, has urged unity among communities and political leaders.
Gertze, who was speaking during a thanksgiving dinner for the elders, said peace must guide society beyond political differences.
"I brought you together, and I am thankful that the young people and the senior citizens are all here; that's the connection I want to see happening: unity among us."
Gertze also cautioned against exploitation of people for political gain.
"Politicians must know there are seasons; there is a season to campaign, and there is a next season to do work. Once that chapter ends, it's time to work. We are now in the phase where we have to deliver and work for those who vote for us."
On behalf of the elders, Katrina Goliath expressed gratitude for the initiative.
"I am happy for the heavenly father in heaven, and I also want to thank the governor, and I also want to thank everyone who came out here, and it's God's will; it's not our will."
Attendees were entertained with gospel music.
