A male pedestrian died instantly after being struck by a truck on the B2 road, approximately 36 kilometres from Karibib towards Okahandja, late on Monday night.
According to an Erongo police report, the accident occurred at around 23:35.
A 54-year-old Namibian man was driving the truck from Walvis Bay towards Windhoek. While travelling towards Okahandja, he reportedly spotted the pedestrian on the roadway but could not avoid the collision due to the close proximity.
The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased's identity remains unknown, and next of kin have not yet been notified.
Police investigations into the circumstances are ongoing.
