Namibians are heeding the call to explore their own country and boost domestic travel. During a visit at the Namibia Wildlife and Resort's Dolomite Eco-camp, the NBC News team met with those who are doing just that.

Dolomite Camp is located in the Etosha National Park and opened in 2011.

It is uniquely nestled on a dolomite hill, allowing for breathtaking views.

The fact that it is built on top of dolomite hills, gives a unique sunset or sunrise.

It depends on whether you are on the east side or have the beautiful view of the Etosha plains and pan.

The Wang family, based in Swakopmund, are first-time visitors to the Dolomite camp.

“This area is built on a hillside, which gives you the most beautiful views. Actually, we saw the most beautiful sunset, and we were even lucky enough to see the double rainbow. It is amazing; it is a very beautiful place, very special.”

Over the just-concluded festive season the tourist resort boasted full capacity, with Namibians taking up the lion's share.

Camp Manager Foibe Kapofi has been steering the ship for the past four years, and leaving visiting tourists satisfied remains front and center to their business.

“So we must pave the way with the positive vibe. We must create an impact on the tourists who are visiting our facility because this is not only about the money that you are getting or our salary that you are getting; it's about selling Namibia to the world. It's about making sure that people who have the opportunity to visit our resorts go with the memory that there's Namibia out there with beautiful people welcoming people and a beautiful, unique landscape.”

A Waitress Helena Iipumbu also shared her experience at the company.

“If we give 100% customer service, customers will advertise us and to tell others that is how Dolomite is, and for our company to get more and more customers.”

“It is all about satisfying the needs of our visitors, making sure that they are safe, and of course, making sure that they see what they want to see, and that makes me very happy to see them also happy,” a Guide, Mekondjo Haipinge added.
