Martha Juniasa, a 24-year-old young woman living with a disability from Omulamba village in the Eengodi Constituency, is appealing to the government and education authorities to allow her to return to school and continue her studies.

Juniasa attended Grade 11 in 2022 at Evale Combined School but did not perform well due to challenges she faced at the time. She now wishes to repeat her grade and complete Grade 12 so that she can further her studies in nursing.

“I want to go back to school and finish my Grade 12 so that I can study nursing. This has always been my career wish,” said Juniasa.

She explained that the long distance between her home and the school made it difficult for her to cope during her previous studies.

Since 2024, Juniasa has been assisting at the Kufamosha Disability Centre in Oshifanya, where she says the experience has helped her grow both personally and socially.

“I am very thankful to the Kufamosha Disability Centre because I have learned a lot here. I have learned how to work with others, understand different types of disabilities, and visit offices such as the government, the council and the governor’s office. I am now able to speak in front of people,” said Juniasa.

Juniasa believes that returning to school will give her a better future, as she has come to understand the importance of education.

“If I am given another opportunity to go back to school, I will do better. I have learned that without education, life is very difficult,” added Junias.

She further appealed to school principals and education stakeholders to assist her in securing a place at a hostel school, should any space be available.

“I want to be educated and have a career. I wish to attend a hostel school where I can stay and focus on my studies. I do not know how to go about it, but if any school principal can help me, I will be very grateful,” said Juniasa.
