Former President of Botswana Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi has hailed one-stop border operations at the Trans Kalahari-Mamuno Border posts.
Masisi said the one-stop border post is significant in facilitating ease of trade between Namibia and Botswana.
He made the remarks during a brief stopover at the border. Masisi expressed satisfaction with how the one-stop border post concept was evolving, noting that the benefits of such an arrangement to both countries are clearly visible.
He says Namibia and Botswana shared a longstanding relationship aimed at developing both countries politically and economically, as reflected by the one-stop border.
On his part, the regional governor, Pijoo Nganate, applauds the former President of Botswana for his influential role during his tenure in office in terms of development now taking shape at the Trans Kalahari-Mamuno border post.
Nganate added that his region benefits a lot from the developmental projects taking place at the eastern borderline in terms of job opportunities, amongst others.
