The Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Esperance Luvindao, said investigations are being carried out to uncover the cause of death of a patient who recently passed away at the Otjiwarongo Hospital.

This was her response to SWANU MP Evilastus Kaaronda, who raised concerns on the matter, citing negligence of staff members.

The minister says she is aware of the matter and says investigations are currently underway and will brief the August House on the outcome.

"The Ministry takes allegations of medical negligence and procedural failure very seriously, and in response to the concerns raised by the family and the community members, the Ministry has immediately launched a comprehensive investigation into the clinical management as well as the circumstances surrounding the deceased's death."
