The Mukorob film project phase 2 has kicked off in Windhoek today, where selected producers are pitching their story ideas in front of a panel.

The project is aimed at growing Namibia's creative and film production, telling Namibian stories as well as promoting local content.

Commissioning Editor for Content Acquisition at the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation -nbc, Glendyrr Bailey has outlined the structured evaluation process that would guide the proceedings.

"The process will work as such: each producer will get 30 minutes to do their pitch for us."

Bailey says the presentation will be followed by a 10-minute question and answer segment, adding, "You will score your view of the project on this pitching scorecard, which will then be handed over to the commissioning team that will do the scoring."

Bailey encouraged the panel to embrace the experience and highlighted the importance of authentic storytelling and celebrating locally driven narratives.

Out of 47 submissions, 21 producers were selected in the phase two masterclass and pitching.

The pitching is attended by senior staff officials of the nbc.

The Mukurob film project underscores growing efforts to strengthen the local film industry through structured evaluation and professional commissioning processes.
