Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare has called on government officials, especially those who hold positions of power, to ensure that they support all businesses regardless of whom they are acquainted with.

He also added that the liberation was about bringing tangible change and economic transformation that benefits all Namibians.

Dr Ngurare added that he is willing to engage the businesspeople upon their requests and that he will not have to wait for elections to speak to them.

The premier made the remarks during a business engagement with the business fraternity in the Oshana region.

"There are those who just have a letter to be signed, but that letter can take six months to be signed. There are those who have made the government ministry and government department their households, and that is not what the war was about. And the elders that are here, that was not what the sacrifice was about."

Oshana Governor Hofni Iipinge has urged the business fraternity in his region to engage the Prime Minister on critical issues that hinder economic development.

He highlighted that the platform reflects a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration between the government and the business community to accelerate economic growth, attract investment, and create sustainable employment opportunities for our people.

"Your role in driving innovation, enterprise and job creation is indispensable to achieving our national development goals."

The engagement was to provide a platform for constructive dialogue between the government and the business community.

At the event, business mogul Erastus Chicco Shapumba donated N$140,000 to be divided across the 14 regions and directed to the education sector to assist with the purchasing of uniforms for vulnerable learners.
