Omusati Police Regional Commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson, says 11 people in the region have been arrested for drunk driving since the Easter long weekend began yesterday.
The Omusati Region has seen an influx of visitors, prompting police to set up sporadic roadblocks across the region.
The region, home to the majestic Ruacana Waterfall, is also hosting various sporting events, especially in the Ruacana Constituency.
Basson said no other serious crimes have been reported. He highlighted that despite complaints about their presence, police will continue patrolling the roads.
Basson added that police will keep setting up sporadic roadblocks across the region to curb illegal activities for the duration of the Easter weekend and beyond.
