A delegation from Engela Constituency in the Ohangwena Region is on a three-day benchmarking visit to the Lüderitz Waterfront Development Company to gain insights that will enhance socio-economic development.

The delegation is led by Constituency Councillor Immanuel Haixuxwa, who explained that the team also aims to gain insight into hosting an expo, as the constituency will be organising its expo for the first time this year.

The visitors also include businesspeople in the Engela Constituency business fraternity.

"The knowledge and experience gained from this workshop will significantly contribute to making an informed decision. Improve planning and service delivery in our projects. Furthermore, it will strengthen capacity building to implement innovation and sustainable incentives to the benefit of our community," said Haxuxwa.

Lüderitz Waterfront Development Company focuses on stimulating and facilitating economic activity and business growth, particularly in the tourism, trade, and related sectors. It helps the southern coastal town to realise its full potential as a business centre and vibrant waterfront development activity.

Its CEO, Fluksman Samuehl, remarked that the waterfront has a wealth of experience and knowledge accumulated over the years that it is eager to share.

"We only represent good quality. Otherwise, we don't do it. The reason is that we want to position the ||Kharas  Region and the town of Lüderitz ten years ahead. When we decided to plan these things, there was no oil discovery; there was no green hydrogen. But we were very clear in terms of where we want to take the country, using a state entity called Lüderitz Waterfront."
