The High Commissioner of Namibia to Nigeria, Walde Ndevashiya, presented his letters of credence to the President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu.

Ndevashiya emphasised the historical ties of solidarity and struggle that underpin the relationship between the two countries.

He committed to advancing a forward-looking partnership anchored on economic diplomacy, leveraging opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area to increase the volume of trade and promote greater ease of doing business between the two countries.

Namibia, he said, attaches great importance to expanding cooperation in key priority sectors, such as trade and investment, enhancing market access, promoting private sector engagement and facilitating mutually beneficial investment opportunities.

Furthermore, Namibia, he says, stands ready to collaborate with Nigeria in livestock development, agro-processing and value chain integration, drawing on Namibia's expertise in high-quality beef production.

High Commissioner Ndevashiya further highlighted the significant potential in Namibia's tourism sector, the emerging oil and gas sector and collaboration in the creative industries.

Recognising Nigeria's leadership in financial technology (fintech) innovation, Namibia is keen to explore collaboration in this area, he said.

He added that strengthening infrastructure and value chain development will be critical in facilitating trade, improving connectivity, and advancing regional integration.
