The Embassy of Angola in Namibia held a national products fair in Windhoek, coinciding with National Peace and Reconciliation Day.
The National Peace and Reconciliation Day is held annually on the fourth of April, but the Angolan embassy marked it on 25 April.
The parking spaces next to the Angolan embassy in the Ausspannplatz area in Windhoek were turned into a marketplace over the weekend.
About twenty stalls were set up, displaying Angolan-produced goods.
Various Angolan-made products were on display, ranging from dried fish to agricultural products as well as textile products.
Angola's Ambassador to Namibia, Pedro Mutindi, said part of the objective is to identify business opportunities.
"Over the past five years, this fair has established itself as the main business event of the Embassy of Angola in Namibia, attracting and bringing together potential investors, businesspeople, entrepreneurs, and consumers, with the objective of promoting national products and identifying and fostering business opportunities. The Embassy, acting as a facilitator of this interaction, seeks to ensure that the ongoing political and economic reforms in the country positively influence the strengthening of partnerships and the attraction of more investment."
Mutindi also reaffirmed Angola's conviction to diversify toward inclusive economic and social growth.
"For this reason, we strongly encourage Angolan businesspeople and entrepreneurs in Namibia to continue on their path, with the aim of increasing the supply of national agricultural and industrial goods on Namibian soil, diversifying the range of export products, and thus internationalising and consolidating the 'Made in Angola' brand, which is increasingly becoming a reality and a symbol of relations between Angola and Namibia – brotherly, neighbouring countries with ties of shared history and kinship that date back centuries."
This year marks the 24th anniversary of the National Peace and Reconciliation Day in Angola.
