Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare suggested using technology for Omagongo fermentation to capitalise on maximum benefit and improved production.
He made the remarks during the fundraising gala dinner at Onamega Village in the Omusati Region for the Omagongo festival.
The Prime Minister also urged traditional authorities to utilise social media platforms for promoting and preserving cultural norms and values.
Dr. Ngurare pledged N$5,000, part of the N$600,000 pledged at the gala dinner.
Elenga Enene of Uukwambi Traditional Authority, Ndilimani Iipumbu, said that the Omagongo tree continues to be a livelihood of households.
It provides not only juice but also oil from which they generate an income.
Iipumbu said that the annual Omagongo Festival will be hosted by Uukwambi Traditional Authority this year and will offer various cultural displays.
Oshana governor Hofni Iipinge emphasised the importance of preserving culture through various platforms for future generations.
The Omagongo Festival is celebrated annually among eight Aawambo traditional authorities on a rotational basis.
This year's event will take place on the 23rd of May.
