Beki-Kumata and its partner Castrobros have handed over cheques of N$500,000 to three charities and social groups.
These are Kavango East's Cocoma Primary School, Project Never Walk Alone and SOS Children's Villages Namibia.
The general manager of Castrobros Investment, Ricky de Castro, says the donation was triggered when he saw how children struggle to receive education in challenging conditions.
"This initiative was introduced to us, and it was started by our fishing partners Beki-Kumata. We applaud Beki-Kumata for their ongoing efforts, and we look forward to future and further joint commitments towards Cocoma Primary School."
Beki-Kumata Executive Board Chairperson Shiwana Ndeunyema said the company believes every Namibian child deserves access to quality education and opportunities regardless of where they live.
Ndeunyema also welcomed ongoing collaboration between government, the private sector and communities, saying Cocoma Primary School could become a model for public-private partnerships aimed at improving education in marginalised communities.
"To the Ministry of Education, particularly in the Rundu constituency, thank you for your support. There were instances where we needed transport, and you availed your resources to get the material to a far-reaching destination in one of the most remote areas in the country; for that we are grateful."
Ndeunyema also called on parents and communities within Cocoma Primary School to protect these investments.
The Deputy Executive Director for Finance and Administration in the Ministry of Education, Knox Imbuwa, commended Beki-Kumata Fishing Enterprise and Castrobros Investment for their contribution.
"We thrive because of partners like yourself, and we thank you for supporting us and particularly Cocoma."
