The Meteorological Services has forecast a significant decline in temperatures across the south-eastern parts of the country from tomorrow. 

Meteorologist Albertina Anderson said a cold front, accompanied by light frost to snow, expected to make landfall over the Southern Cape area will trigger the low temperatures.  

The weather service predicted that temperatures will gradually pick up over the weekend. 

"For Namibia, with that southeasterly flow, we only have cooling, a significant cooling in the mornings and overnights. So, it will become colder than the previous days, but during the day we expect the temperatures to pick up in the higher 10s and the lower 20s. So, mild to warm weather conditions can be expected over the central parts, and then in the South, mild conditions." 

The weather service further predicted windy conditions across the western interior of the country. 

"So, by Friday, it will become very windy. There is a possibility for veld fires, right, and then also very high temperatures. So, those are good components for veld fires over those areas for Friday."
