UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed says the world body has proposed initiatives aimed at dealing with crises emanating from financial challenges.

Namibia and Cuba will continue to strengthen their sound historical relations, which have seen cooperation in various fields over the years.

This was reaffirmed during the meeting between President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and the Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Marrero Cruz, at State House.

Erongo Governor Neville Andre has urged all Namibians to unite in support of the newly sworn-in first female president, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

Andre emphasised the importance of national unity as the country enters this historic new chapter under female leadership.

Kunene Governor Marius Sheya has revived the Build Together Housing programme in Outjo to help address the backlog of over 4,000 residents on the waiting list.

Currently, the most affected and needy homeowners are located in the town's ever-expanding informal settlements.

Namibia marked its 35th Independence Day with the swearing-in of its first female president, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. 

The event was attended by various dignitaries and Heads of State, who shared their thoughts on the historic occasion.
