Swakopmund is one of the preferred holiday destinations in the country, and with its pleasant weather, it is impossible to stay indoors. 

Motorists are urged to be extra vigilant and cautious on the roads as traffic has started to build up on major routes.

Tourism is one of Namibia's fastest-growing industries, and as the holiday season approaches, thousands of tourists and holidaymakers, both local and foreign, will descend on the coastal town of Swakopmund.

As the festive season kicks into high gear, the Namibian Transport Department and law enforcement agencies are actively engaged in a comprehensive road safety campaign.

The focal point of their efforts is the B2 Swakopmund Roadblock, strategically positioned on one of Namibia's busiest highways.

The government allocates close to N$4,1 million every month to support over 3000 people with disabilities in the Erongo Region.

Erongo Governor Neville Andre has, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the situation where senior citizens are left alone to care for children with disabilities.
