|Khomas Governor Sam Nujoma said inequality is still a major challenge, making reference to the gap existing between the Katutura and Hochland Park areas.

With the just concluded first-ever inaugural African Media Awards 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, which is organised by the African Union of Broadcasting and foundations honouring African leaders, the event featured nine categories with top nominees invited to a gala event.

Leaders have described that the observance of International Anti-Corruption Day is a solemn reminder of a shared responsibility borne by governments, institutions, communities and individual citizens to confront corruption wherever it manifests and in whatever form it appears. 

The Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, Emma Kantema, visited the children and family of the late Rachel Simasiku, a recent victim of gender-based violence (GBV) who was buried last weekend in Katima Mulilo. 

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has paid tribute to women, saying that as Namibia marks Women’s Day, “we must begin by recognising the historic role that Namibian women played in the liberation struggle.”
