The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, in collaboration with UNICEF Namibia, officially launched the School Sports for Development (SS4D) Program under the Integrated Physical Education and School Sports (IPESS) policy on Thursday in Windhoek.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is expected to participate in the 9th Southern African Customs Union (SACU) Summit of Heads of State and Government.

The summit is scheduled to take place on 26 June in Cape Town, South Africa.

Following the successful implementation of the use of national identity cards as documents for cross-border travel between Namibia and Botswana, authorities in the neighbouring country are using the lessons from the agreement to launch similar arrangements with other countries in the region.

The Keetmanshoop Town Council has suspended acting CEO Deseree Boois, who holds the Financial Strategic Executive position, with full salary pending an investigation into alleged financial irregularities.

Council resolved Boois’s suspension at a meeting on Tuesday.
