Proflight Zambia, the largest privately owned commercial airline, has launched its first direct route between Lusaka and Windhoek to improve air travel between the two countries. 

The newly appointed Chairperson of the Regional Energy Regulators Association of Southern Africa (REFA) has noted that despite the region's vast energy potential, millions still face energy poverty. 

Dr. Paulo de Graça made the remark at a RERA media briefing held in Windhoek on Monday.

Over 50% of Namibia's research infrastructure is concentrated in the |Khomas and Erongo Regions, while no research facilities exist in Hardap, Ohangwena, and Kavango West regions. 

These are part of findings contained in the just-launched Namibia's Research Infrastructure Survey Report.

Namibia says developments following the US-Israel strikes on Iran risk heightening tensions in an already fragile Middle East and undermining international peace and security.

A final agreement between NORED and the Mineworkers' Union of Namibia was reached last night at Ondangwa in the Oshana Region, bringing to an end the labour strike that began last Thursday.
