Swapo Party MP Solomon April has questioned why the Ministry of Works and Transport issued "purchase or vacate" letters to former government employees living in government houses.

The Minister of Justice and Labour Relations, Wise Immanuel, has clarified that the government cannot directly intervene in the ongoing Namib Mills strike, as the matter constitutes a dispute of interest rather than a dispute of rights.

Civil servants will receive a salary increment of five per cent come 1st April.

This follows a signing agreement between the government, the Namibia Public Workers Union (NAPWU) and the Namibia National Teachers' Union (NANTU).

The agreement covers two financial years, 2026/27 and 2027/28. 

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah's two sons have denied allegations made by Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) leader Panduleni Itula.

Dr. Itula claimed that the duo are involved in the oil industry and alleged the First Family is positioning itself to benefit from the sector.

The father of the two-year-old, Lydia Namusha, killed at Ohalumbele Village in the Omusati Region, has lamented that the incident left him heartbroken.
 
The toddler was allegedly murdered by Juuso Namusha's girlfriend, Hilma Hiskia, out of jealousy last week Friday.
