Nurses from the Windhoek Central Hospital marked Nurses Day in celebration of the vital role they play in society.

Namibia achieved a treatment success rate of 85% for drug-susceptible tuberculosis, nearing the World Health Organisation's target of 90%, last year. 

Members of the 8th parliament are gathered at Swakopmund for a one-week induction and orientation seminar.

The induction is an opportunity for the members of parliament to gain knowledge about procedures, responsibilities, standing rules, and orders, among others.

Several Members of Parliament have criticised the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism for what they describe as discriminatory hunting regulations, a failure to combat poaching effectively, and a lack of local beneficiation.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security acknowledged the growing threat of drug trafficking in communities and urged locals to take collective action.
