The Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) has rejected President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah's statement that her children family has no involvement in the oil and gas sector.

Former member of parliament Geoffrey Mwilima was buried at Kanono Village in the Zambezi region today. 
Mwilima died in a Windhoek hospital aged 70 while awaiting a medical operation.

Zambezi Governor Dorothy Kabula delivered a speech on behalf of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. 

The Right to Shelter foundation of Namibia has withdrawn the town's Deputy Mayor, Dina Filemon, from her position.
The foundation has also reinforced her expulsion, emphasising that Filemon is no longer authorised to represent the foundation in any capacity.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah will officially open the third session of the eighth parliament on Tuesday.

Despite being banned, the United Democratic Party (UDP) has repeated a call for the Zambezi Region to secede from Namibia. 

UDP members marched to the Zambezi governor's office on Wednesday to submit a petition, stating the demand for secession. 

Residents of the Zambezi region are calling on the government to take action against the United Democratic Party (UDP), a party that was banned in 2007 for its secessionist stance. 

The residents alongside the 4 traditional authorities in the region took to the streets of Katima Mulilo today.

Family spokesperson for the late Edgar Lungu, Makebi Zulu, has survived a road traffic accident while on a campaign trail to take over leadership of the Patriotic Front (PF) that was led by the late former President of Zambia.

The Electoral Commission of Namibia has asked the Electoral Court to overturn a decision that led to the wrong allocation of a council seat in the Rundu Local Authority elections.

The ECN said a returning officer made an error when announcing the final allocation of seats.
