Namibia closes 80% of gender gap

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says Namibia has closed more than 80% of its gender gap, reaffirming the country's commitment to advancing women's empowerment.

According to the latest World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Report, Namibia ranks first in Africa and eighth worldwide.

Namibia ranks first in Africa and eighth in the world in the Global Gender Gap Annual Report published by the World Economic Forum.

This was revealed by the African director of the forum, Chido Munyati, during a courtesy call with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

21 out of 35 economies are in the top 100, and Namibia stands out as a top-10 performer.
