Various church denominations gathered at the Restoration Center in the capital to honour and celebrate the life of the late Founding Father of the Namibian Nation.

The Minister of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare, Doreen Sioka, said she was inspired by three words, "Unite, and Eradicate Poverty," written for her by the late Founding President in his book Where Others Wavered.

“He once gave up his room for me while he went to spend the night at his mother’s house, then returned the next morning with a helicopter to fetch me. He was really my chommie.”

Retired Zambian journalist, Villie Lombanya, who at one point plied as the late Dr Sam Nujoma's driver has extolled the Founding President of Namibia.
