The Directorate of Agricultural Production, Extension and Engineering South (DAPEES) division in the ||Kharas Region has attributed a number of unfilled vacancies to budgetary cuts. 

The ||Kharas  regional leadership has appealed for stronger collaboration with investors exploiting the region's natural resources to ensure local communities optimally benefit from developmental projects. 

The government has, to date, acquired 20,248 hectares of land for a total cost of N$19 million to develop the Neckartal Dam irrigation scheme project. 

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources has condemned the presentation by the Ministry of Mines and Energy as incomprehensible and lacking in detail.

The ministry's representative, Mathew Mukosho, made the presentation during the committee's oversight engagement in Keetmanshoop.

A farmer in the Vaalgras district in the ||Kharas Region received the surprise of his life when one of his goats delivered a highly unusual and rare litter.

The goat gave birth to six kids.

This is just short of a world record, which is set at seven kids.

The leader of the ||Haboben clan, Dawid Gertze, has urged youth to speak out against internal strife over succession battles among the Nama traditional leaders.

Gertze, who is also the governor of ||Kharas, noted such conflicts deprive communities of development. 

Stakeholders in the ||Kharas Region have welcomed the Nuclear Bill for its role in advancing socio-economic development.

They shared these sentiments during public consultations on the draft bill held in Keetmanshoop, which provided a platform for inclusive dialogue and stakeholder input.
