The Rehoboth Town Council has expressed its commitment to serving the community despite challenges by prioritising road infrastructure, investment, and basic services.
The town, located some 80 kilometres south of Windhoek, has about 70,000 inhabitants.
Services have been fully restored at Mangetti Dune Health Centre in Tsumkwe Constituency following renovations.
The 24-hour centre also now has a doctor, a pharmacist, and a social worker.
A budget of N$1 million was set aside to renovate the centre and bring all services to standard.
The persistent drought in the Kunene Region is affecting water provision for residents.
Kunene Regional Council Acting Director for Planning and Development, Charles Uarije, made these remarks during the Regional and Local Government Administrative Leadership Session at Opuwo.
The Walvis Bay Municipality is reserving 33 hectares of land at Farm 37 for the town's Backyard Tenants Group.
This comes in the wake of the group's petition, handed over to the municipality in February this year.
