Community members of Katima Mulilo handed a petition to the Ministry of Justice ahead of 44-year-old Steven Naruseb's court appearance. 

Naruseb, accused of killing his wife, Rachel Simasiku, was eventually denied bail by Magistrate Davy Kambinda for his own protection due to the public outcry.

Police are investigating another suspected break-in at the Katima Mulilo Town Council, which occurred between Friday night and Saturday morning. 

The National Council Standing Committee on Home Affairs, Security, Constitutional and Legal Affairs visited the Katima Mulilo Border Post in the Zambezi Region on Monday to find out if recommendations proposed by the committee in 2022 have been implemented by the government.

A 50-year-old man was arrested at the Liselo checkpoint near Katima Mulilo after he was found in possession of protected game products, including lion teeth, bones and oils extracted from lion fat.
