The Zambezi Region has recorded 14 cases of human trafficking involving 14 victims over the past eight years.

Speaking at the commemoration of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Zambezi Police Commander Julia Sakuwa-Neo said most of the victims are children between the ages of 10 and 16.

Cases of trafficking in persons prosecuted at Oshakati have more than tripled, rising from three cases in 2024/2025 to 10 cases in the 2025/2026 reporting period.

Namibia has recorded six cases of trafficking in persons between June 2024 and June this year.
