Gibeon Village Council moves closer to end bucket toilet system

The Gibeon Village Council in the Hardap Region is moving closer to ending the bucket toilet system.

Sharon Bezuidenhout, Chairperson of the Council, told nbc News that the government has allocated N$335 thousand in the current fiscal year for the construction of sanitation services in the village.

The campaign is aimed at creating awareness of electrical safety in homes, at work, in recreational areas and in other public spaces.

The City of Windhoek commemorated a belated World Food Day on Friday. 

The day, usually celebrated on October 16, is aimed at raising awareness of food insecurity and production worldwide. 

The City of Windhoek says access to food is a human right and no one deserves to go to bed hungry.

No excuse for sexual violence- SGBV workshop participants

Participants at a workshop on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) at Keetmanshoop said there is no excuse for sexual violence.

The workshop was conducted by the Karas Arts Dance Academy (KADA) youth group and supported by the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare.

Youth social enterprises to be rewarded

Seven youth social enterprises are to be recognised for their outstanding contributions to sexual and reproductive health matters.

The recipients were selected from among 170 applications received by the Office of the First Lady and the United Nations Population Fund.
