Strengthening partnerships in education, agriculture, ICT, and skills development is high on the agenda for the newly accredited Heads of Mission to Namibia.

The Khomas Regional Council has formalized a twinning agreement with the Cunene Province of Angola to enhance cooperation in sanitation, agriculture, health, and education.

The quality of learning in the Kunene Region continues to be affected by high cases of school dropouts and teenage pregnancies.

This was stated by regional education Deputy Director Petrus Shipalanga during a briefing with EU Ambassador to Namibia Ana Beatriz Martins at Khorixas last week.

The Okatana Senior Secondary School at Ekuku Okatana in the Oshakati Circuit has moved from position 50 to third in the national senior secondary and AS level ratings last year.

The school is also ranked number one in the Oshana Region.

Erongo Region Governor Neville Andre has called for a collective effort from all relevant stakeholders to improve the quality of education for learners. 

In an interview with nbc News at Swakopmund, Andre stressed the importance of a united approach to address the challenges in the education system.
