Despite efforts by various organisations to curb the scourge of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the country, the Kavango East Region continues to record high cases of GBV.

Parents who have registered their children at Thipanana Primary School in the Kavango East Region are calling on the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture to employ more teachers at the school.

The parents claim that there is no teaching and learning taking place since the school reopened.

About 36 homesteads were damaged by heavy rains during this week at Shamaghongo Village in Kavango East Region. Currently some affected villagers are being accommodated in their neighbours' houses.
