Reformed ex-offender 'Ninja' helps police motivate youth away from crime

Police in Keetmanshoop have teamed up with reformed ex-offender Paulus Shimweetheleni, known as ‘Ninja,’ to engage directly with young people about the consequences of crime.

During a recent police community engagement, residents raised concerns over the rising crime rate, fueled largely by gangsterism.

The Keetmanshoop Town Council elected Councillor Annelize Knaus of the Landless People's Movement (LPM) as the new mayor during today's annual mayoral election. 

Councillor Easter Isaak nominated Knaus for the mayor position, and former Mayor McDonald Hanse seconded the nomination.
