Kavango East Health Directorate needs equipped ambulances

A lack of well-equipped ambulances in the Kavango East Region compromises timely medical assistance to patients in remote areas. 

This was shared by the Chief Medical Officer at the Rundu Intermediate Hospital, Dr. Medson Chibwe, with members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health.

Education director alarmed by rising teacher suicides

The Director of Education in the Kavango East Region, Christine Shilima, has raised concerns over the high rate of suicide cases among teachers countrywide.

Shilima spoke at a Rundu Circuit Teachers Seminar recently held at Andreas Kandjimi Primary School in Rundu.

Mabushe village clinic nears completion

The construction of this new facility was necessitated by flooding at the current clinic during the rainy season, which likely caused major problems with healthcare delivery. 

Japan funds four classrooms at Martin Ndumba Secondary School

The government of Japan, through its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects, handed over four classrooms at Martin Ndumba Secondary School in the Kavango East Region. 

The classrooms are valued at over N$940,000.

Kavango East income programme faces funding shortfall

The Kavango East Region's Income Generating Activity Programme under the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare is underfunded and unable to cover all six constituencies.

The programme aims to empower communities by providing materials and equipment to start or improve their businesses.
