Namibia marks 35 years of independence, and both the European Union and Germany have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties with the country.

Germany will allocate N$380 million to support Namibia’s efforts in closing infrastructure and technical capacity gaps, particularly in urban and peri-urban areas. 

The funds will focus on formalizing land ownership and ensuring decent housing for residents in informal settlements.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform is rolling out a Water Sector Support Programme aimed at addressing Namibia's water supply and sanitation challenges.

The Herero and Nama genocide is a moral and legal crime, and therefore, there is a need to revisit the dialogue between Namibia and Germany at the community and people-to-people levels.
